Use the vSphere client to connect to your ESXi host or the vCenter instance you are using to manage your hosts.

Click on the Configuration tab, then select Security Profile in the Software section in the lower left hand side. Then click on Properties.


Here we’ll need to start the ESXi Shell and SSH services.


Click on the Options button and select the Startup policy for each of the services.


If you want them on all the time, select Start and stop with host. Obviously for security reasons it is preferable to select Start and stop manually, so that access to the host is enabled only when actually needed.

Finally, click on the Start button.
